1. Who We Are
Vegas Engine Lab is an engine-only shop based in Las Vegas, NV.
We specialize in engine tear-downs, failure analysis, and rebuilds for modern European platforms, primarily BMW, Mercedes-AMG, and Jaguar / Land Rover.
We do not perform engine removal/installation or general vehicle repair.
By booking a service, paying a tear-down fee, or approving a rebuild with Vegas Engine Lab, you agree to the terms below.
2. Quotes, Pricing & Tear-Down Fees
-
All pricing is listed before you pay at checkout or on your written estimate.
-
Engine tear-down fees are non-refundable once the tear-down begins.
-
Tear-down fees generally can be credited toward a rebuild performed by Vegas Engine Lab. The credit amount will be shown on your estimate.
-
Written estimates are usually valid for 14 days from the date issued unless otherwise noted.
If we discover major additional issues during tear-down that affect cost, we’ll contact you with updated options before moving forward.
3. Deposits & Payments
-
Rebuilds require a 50–70% deposit before parts are ordered or machine work is started.
-
Deposits are used to cover:
-
Parts and components
-
Machine shop services
-
Specialty consumables
-
-
The remaining balance is due before pickup or shipment of your completed engine.
We accept the payment methods listed on our website or invoices at the time of service.
4. Customer Responsibilities
By working with Vegas Engine Lab, you agree to:
-
Provide accurate information about your vehicle, engine, failure event, and prior modifications.
-
Ensure engines are properly removed and drained of fluids before drop-off or shipment.
-
Arrange engine removal and installation with your own shop or technician.
-
Follow all written break-in, tuning, and maintenance instructions we provide.
Failure to follow these responsibilities may void any coverage or support.
5. Parts Policy
-
We strongly prefer to supply parts for all rebuilds.
-
In limited cases, customer-supplied parts may be accepted only with prior approval and may affect coverage.
-
Customer-supplied parts must be:
-
New and in original packaging
-
From brands we approve
-
Correct for your specific engine
-
Vegas Engine Lab is not responsible for delays or failures caused by incorrect, used, or poor-quality parts provided by the customer.
6. Machine Shop Work
All machining (boring, honing, decking, balancing, head work, etc.) is performed by a professional machine shop partner.
-
We coordinate transport, work orders, and specifications.
-
We inspect parts before assembly.
While we do our best to verify quality, certain aspects of machine work are ultimately performed by third parties. Any issues directly traceable to the machine shop will be addressed in good faith, but may be subject to the machine shop’s policies and limitations.
7. Workmanship Warranty (What We Cover)
Vegas Engine Lab stands behind its assembly workmanship.
Subject to the exclusions below, we may repair or correct issues that are clearly the result of:
-
Incorrect assembly
-
Improper torque procedures
-
Mis-installed internal components attributable to our work
Coverage details (time and mileage limits, if offered) will be shown on your written estimate or invoice for each specific build.
Any warranty consideration requires:
-
Proof of professional installation
-
Proof of proper tuning and break-in
-
Return of the engine or parts for inspection
8. What Is Not Covered
We do NOT cover engine problems caused by, or related to:
-
Incorrect or aggressive tuning (lean conditions, excessive timing, etc.)
-
Detonation, pre-ignition, or knock
-
Overheating, coolant loss, or lack of oil pressure
-
Oil starvation from driver abuse (e.g., drifting, burnouts, long high-G pulls without proper setup)
-
Missed or improper oil changes
-
Fuel system issues (low pressure, clogged injectors, bad pumps)
-
Use of low-quality or incorrect fuel
-
Abuse, racing incidents, track use outside of the build’s intended purpose
-
Over-revving, mis-shifts, or hitting the limiter repeatedly
-
Install errors by third-party shops
-
Customer-supplied parts that fail
-
Damage during shipping, transport, or storage
We also do not cover consequential damages, such as tow bills, rental cars, track fees, lost time, or damage to surrounding components (transmission, driveline, etc.).
9. Break-In, Tuning & Maintenance Requirements
To qualify for any workmanship support, you must:
-
Follow our written break-in procedure (RPM limits, mileage, oil type, and change intervals).
-
Use a reputable professional tuner for any custom calibration.
-
Use fuel appropriate for the tune (pump, race fuel, or ethanol blend as specified).
-
Maintain the engine with quality oil and filters at recommended intervals.
Failure to follow these requirements will void any coverage or goodwill consideration.
10. Storage & Abandoned Engines
-
Completed engines must be picked up or shipped within 14 days of notification, unless other arrangements are agreed in writing.
-
After that period, storage fees may apply.
-
Engines or components left for more than 60 days without communication or payment may be considered abandoned and may be sold or scrapped to recover costs.
We will make reasonable attempts to contact you before taking any such action.
11. Shipping & Freight
For shipped engines:
-
You are responsible for proper crating/palletizing unless otherwise arranged.
-
You are responsible for shipping costs and transit insurance.
-
Risk of loss or damage during shipping lies with the shipper and/or carrier.
Inspect shipments immediately upon arrival and report any visible damage to the carrier.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Vegas Engine Lab’s total liability for any claim related to services provided is limited to the amount you paid to us for that specific job.
We are not liable for:
-
Loss of use

Incidental or consequential damages of any kind
Some states may not allow certain limitations; in those cases, this section applies only to the extent allowed by Nevada law.
